    I am not surprised about lack of knowledge at Gazelle or any equivilent company on things like this. Passion for Vintage is a specific thing. Even passion of for particular brand will also not be present with each individual working for that brand. I once visited Koga. Someone very high in the hierarchy gave me a tour in the museum and told me a particular bike on display was their very 1st aluminum bike. I thought; what is he talking about? The bike was in fact filled brazed and chromed. Maybe he is still good at his job, but I were kinda surprised.

    Finally, I could also imagine people at some companies get tired of answering mails with all kind of questions about decades old bikes. To some extent fine, but when it takes an fte it is no fun anymore I could image. Some companies have put all their old catalogues online now. I think they did wise with that.

    Maybe Gazelles incompetence in coming up with info on your frame is a combination of lack of knowledge and ignorance. Overall what I hear on Gazelle in similar cases is quite good though.
