Six Feet Under, the last 15 minutes of the last show will make you cry.
Or not, your call...My Mrs booed like a baby, I had more of a bottom lip quiver
Superb stuff

Breaking Bad. The first series is probably the best TV I have ever watched. Plus it got the dad from Malcolm in the middle. With a gun. And a goatee. And crack. What more could you want?
+1
It's brilliant.(So much so I didn't even notice it was Malcolm in the middles dad.
Cheers for that.) -

Have to agree here. The second and third series are great too. Just gets more and more ...(won't say to ruin it).
Waiting for the 4th in spring I think. Should have been on sooner butbit got delayed

Only until first Colonel leaves. Once that dickhead Frank gets more time, there's a canned soundtrack and Cutter and Honeycut leave, it's angsty bollocks.

Is anybody here watching, or has watch "the mentalist" or "Lie to me"
any good?
opinions?I gave both a go. Lie to me is mildly entertaining for the first few episodes until it becomes obvious that every ep will be pretty damn similar. Plus none of the characters are really developed, it's more about each case. It's a bit if distraction and time killing but that's it. I never got on with mentalist either, pretty much he same and being a massive Steve Coogan fan I can't possibly take it seriously
Not a boxset yet but has anyone watched Boardwalk Empire? Best tv I've seen since the wire and pisses all over the sopranos

Agree with most of what people have already said. Not enough talk about The Wire so I thought I would mention it again!
Also I just ordered the Soprano's boxset finally, thanks to the people mentioning it earlier in the thread.

I like the mentalist not sure what Steve Coogan has got to do with it tho.
I mentioned Boardwalk Empire a while back. It does have a box set out.
It is excellent tv but to say it pisses all over The Sopranos is ridiculous. Wait til it finishes its sixth season, then make the comparison.

I have all the Seinfeld series boxsets which are ace.
I have the Diehard trilogy boxset.
I have the Bourne trilogy.
All are pretty good. -

Mentalist is good for some chilled out entertaining tv, it has on going themes throughout the seasons but for the most part it's just fun to watch.

That episode of alan partridge is pure win. Hylareus. Cheers for posting that Ronnie.
Saussagefingers: ok, you have a point but if it keeps the character development the way it has over the first series and all the deals and back stabbing it will be excellent. I sort of said it 'pisses all over the sopranos just to get the conversation onto Boardwalk Empire to be honest. But still, I got bored with sops, who wants to watch some depressive wining about all the shit he does and his family, interspersed with far too little gangsterism? Don't see the attraction
