^ you should try it. I've not done a regular "weekly" shop for years. Much less waste and fewer impulse buys of cr*p into a trolley, as I can't carry a trolley load of stuff home on my bike.
I can see why folks should feel that they don't want to shop exclusively at the co-op, however the solution you mention they're suggesting is just a way many people shop already whilst choosing not to give their market share to the big supermarkets that are killing the smaller retailers.
