Guitar Nerds Anonymous

Collings are beautifully made, tho' I was amazed at how unsparkly the sound was when I tried my mate's... He's a proper guitar player and makes the thing sing like a bird when he's picking but I prefer a ringier/chimier guitar for big chords... Different tools I guess...

Yeah I thought that myself though I like it, it's a very earthy, rich sounding guitar. I was recording on it last week and broke a string and didn't have a spare so I had to use a friends Gibson J-45 for the rest of recording, really bright, chiming sound, not my cup of tea at all though it's clearly a great guitar! I've become so used to the Collings now that I wouldn't play anything else!
