  • If it's 650 front and rear, it might have been made for pursuit racing after the UCI said everyone had to use same-sized pairs of wheels?

  • good thinking - i'm going to measure again - but i did use a 700c in the rear yesterday when measuring. i'll take a guess that a 650 wheel will bring the 571/2 plus a little for tyre center of front axle to 30cm over floor. no mention of wheel size here:

    http://www.nationalcyclingcentre.com/documents/Track%20bike%20specification.pdf

and some of the smaller kids bike run 650 wheels.

while i'm at it - anyone know why they insist on track ends on the velodrome - if the BB was high enough what'd be wrong with semi horizontal road droputs? - conceivably then a tight and high (and cheap) crit frame would do fine.

off to the loft to remeasure............

  • assuming a large stack on bottom of headset plus 25mm tyres and the rear wheel in as far as it will go - quite marginal - have get 650 in there plus the headset to know for sure...perhaps a phonecall to the velodrome will put a stop to the idea for good anyway....
. could fit eno hub plus whack 2 ball bearings in over the front axles - 700c forks would ruin the geometry i guess

pic shows frame to be in situ if you imagine the lower line to be the floor then the front fork is where it would be with a 650 in.

i guess it was legal in the past and now would be struggling to get let on the track - time to put it out to pasture i guess.

edit: looks like i was wrong it's some weird 'stayer' - motorbike chasing device- and the forks go in backwards! :

  • Anyone know what this brake lever is? Cheers!

  • bontrager tt lever

  • Does anyone know of any Ergo-lever type setup that could be used on an early 80s Nuovo Record rear mech? IIRC Campagnolo changed the cable pull ratio for all their derailers and shifters in the early 00s - so would a mid 90s Ergopower lever setup work?

  • I thinkk that nothing was designed for that.
You'll be very lucky if you can find a combination that works on a couple of gear combinations.
Why would you combine Ergopowers with a NR rear mech?
If you want the looks, use down tube shifters (Simplex)
If you want function, take the cheapest modern rear mech and Ergopowers.

  • bontrager tt lever

Cheers. Beautiful levers, sadly out of my price range.

  • mortari, it's a brake lever, you squeeze it, you slowed down, that's all it does.

it does not do a double rainbow.

I just confirming these are TA cranks please - any ideas on the chainring??

    thanks

  • they might be Viscount not TA

  • It does use the same 50.4BCD as the TA, very popular in France.

  • Yeah that's a viscount crankset.

  • hey thanks guys - sweet, another part of the bike accounted for!

  • If you would want to swap it for a Shimano 600 Arabesque one...

    See here

Haha, fair. But it's so pretty.

  • sorry big post here. no idea what kind of bike this is. Yes i can read, but i can't find any information on this make. maybe someone can help with some info. Looks old, but in very good condition.

I don't know if it was repainted... It definitely has thick paint almost like powercoat, but there a small chip on it, that looks like when wet coat chips.

this was recently won on Ebay for a small amount of money.

    Fork is very nice.
    came with a Hatta headset.
    120mm dropouts.
    no dents.
    Fork has Campy fork ends.
    Interesting curved bridge
    Campy cups... Italian threaded
Campy track ends. hard to see but says campy.

  • Anyone know the origins of this Belgian track bike?
Repainted somewhere in the early 90's
Italian threaded BB shell and campa dropouts. Tubing unknown but probably columbus

  • Offered these brakes for 20 quid by a guy locally. Look nice and all, but how do they stack up against a modern shimano brake, and what are they worth? (Ill Link as not to flood) Cheers.

Not particulary new, so of course I've found their site :p
I've only mailed them though, going to give them a few days to answer before I give them a call
