I enjoy watching it, you're right the cross wind can make it interesting and when it stays together can have an interesting sprint without the usual suspects.
But not a great introduction to Pro-Cycling, much better the wait for the classics for first time viewer

Not so great if you are a homosexualist though.
They're not allowed to compete?
-

and rightly so, what if they get homo sweat on straight folk?
It could spread like wildfire

i reckon the TOF will be hot this year. Evans and Basso arnt going to be tired after a fucking hard giro, and both are gonna want a decent result. theres always ol Menchov and Sanchez lurking
with both shlecks in action i cant really see them easily beaten in the mountains.
for the classics id be surprised if Thor didnt win a race and Cancllera is blatently going to try for something. id like to see gilbert take a win as hes great to watch, and vino is always dangerous.

it's not that, don't be facetious.
it's because the best looking riders don't compete that early in the season.

I hope Ian Field wins on Sunday, he deserves it.
Field got 4th, was the clear crowd favourite to the end, but fell off early on letting Oldham sail away with the win, then couldn't hold his own teamy off for a podium. Had a face like someone had shot his dog over the finish line, poor guy.

I have no sound on my PC: can you provide a precis?
Without the foul language though, thanks. -

I'm not a fucking animal, I'm a human being, ya know. Mark Cavendish.
Egos abound.
Van Garderen expects to win something this year.

DiLuca is to ride for Katusha. He won't be taking a salary.
Tchmil said "He told me ‘I’m a new man’ and I told him that I’d take him if he rode for free". Later Tchmil talks about the team's anti-doping stance *“We take the fight against doping very seriously and whoever races for us has to agree to pay **a fine equal to five years salary *if they test positive".

D'oh.I liked this comment on the Inner Ring article:
*
"Irish Peloton said...
Remember the '4 times your salary' fine that they introduced which led to Gert Steegmans leaving the team?Nice way for Di Luca to avoid a hefty fine next time he gets caught. Four times nothing is nothing."*

And the plimsolls.

Yeah, but it's singlespeed, and he got, like, three feet of air then.

There are warm up races through January and February, but the real racing starts with Het Volk (now renamed Het Nieuwsblad) at the end of February. Then the proper racing starts with Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico, Milan-San Remo (the first truely big race of the season - one of the five one day Classics known as 'the monuments'), quickly followed by Ghent-Welvegem, Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix (both monuments), Tour of the Basque Country, Amstel Gold, Fleche-Wallone, Liege-Bastogne-Liege (another monument) then were into the stage race season with the Tour of Romandie, followed by the Giro d'Italia, the Dauphine Libere, the Tour of Switzerland then the Tour de France.
I read that, and suddenly found myself salivating.
love Het Volk, even though it's NEVER televised (humph), but I really got involved with Paris Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico last year. Totally absorbing racing.

and don't watch tour of qatar or oman unless you want to listen to David Harmon trying to talk for three hours while nothing happens
I like both of these Tours since they're great races for sprinter's. Just watch the last 20k if you're bored.

I Sky+ them and fast forward through, looking for mental echelons or crashes.

If I fall behind watching a Tour and need space on the V+ box I do the same thing.
