• #14529
That Kona with tri bars is pretty awesome is you ask me.
-
• #14530
The bike is definitely not porn, in fact I think it's been posted in here before, where it belongs.

I stand corrected, care to move it to the porn thread?
possibly the functional porn thread.
Which is basically full of shite bikes with front racks.
Someone has invested feck all money, and produced a bike with a half decent TT position. Ugly, but effective I bet. Actually looks like someone getting into tri's has thrown something together out an old commuter. Fair play to them.

^ it looks like some tri guy is pulling a joke on his tri friends riding really expensive bikes.
-
• #14534
if he is a tri guy, he is pretty fucking shit as he was eaten and spat out by a shopenger

Is there any video evidence you can offer to back up this mind boggling observation of yours ??

Quite nifty them R20's
Sheldon Brown had a real soft spot for them
-

yeah but surely seatposts are designed to take a particular type of stress, won't that set up put a lot of leverage onto the seatpost? (i am no engineer)
have you seen any radball riding????
-
• #14539
Wow that is one old quote. Frame construction is completely different though on radball bikes, and how far do their seatposts extend into the tubing of the bike? (genuine question, I don't know) That surely has to be taken into account.

I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard or expensive to get something machined. 2min on the lathe and sherbang you have the correct OD. Just have to choose the material.

Probably just needs a couple extra rear lights, and a more aero water bottle.

it was a japanese trend started a few years back
chopped and flipped drops
of no practical use what so ever but it looks funky
and thats all that matters when you're a hipster
-
• #14543
it's chopped, but it's not actually flipped
chopped AND flipped dropbars make decent bullhorn, depending on the shape of course -
• #14544
He forgot to flip them then^
-
• #14545
Too slow.

when i still worked in my lbs I had chop some for a customer, cursing him the whole time. -
• #14549
Too scared to buy risers because it would make them hipster. But chop off bottom half because they're hipster and don't need the drops
