It may do, but it's a perfectly adequate method of tying a scarf, especially on a day when you don't want it sitting to close to your neck. The one I hate is the one that goes up and through and the vertically downwards like a giant dog's tongue. As you're such a connoisseur, maybe you could share with us your chosen method?
