  • When you're young, spending loads on clothes is daft as fashion, your taste and often your body changes pretty frequently. As you get older and you care less about trends - and you've settled into being 'slightly overweight' - you can start to amass some more timeless pieces: a good, classically-tailored suit or two (always with room for adjustment); a selection of seasonal outerwear; some decent knitwear; and shoes which cost enough to bother resoling when they wear out.
