I want to keep tags. LFGSS has elevated them to a completely useless but fun addition.

Go to the section you want (General, Classifieds etc) at the top it should say Post New Thread

I think the idea is more that if everyone knows they can see it was you that posted a tag, you'll think twice before posting something OTT offensive (that you wouldn't say without the anonymity).

Wibble nailed it. There are too many utter cowards who will not say things openly but will use the anonymous nature of the tags to make really out of order comments.

If you wish to be a cunt then be so openly, not snidely tagging and hiding.

There were tags on the 5th floor thread naming someone who was not even directly involved in the thread, which were misogynisitc, cowardly and quite disgusting. Very different from a simple HTFU.

I will leave it there as I have no interest in arguing with a keyboard warrior like myself.

It's the personal sniping that is vulgar. Also, in line with VB's ideals for this forum (specifically that each user owns their content and are subsequently liable for it) it seems silly to have an anonymous and unattributable source for user generated content.

Yeah, it does. But anyone who thinks they're anonymous is just naive as I'm perfectly fine with outing who said what if it's crossed the line.

And because prancer will now be an utter dick about this and start saying "who posted this", "who posted that"... I'll just just change that statement to "so long as prancer isn't asking, I'm perfectly fine with outing who said what if it's crossed the line".
