Silly hubs and rims.
Why would anyone want a deep carbon clincher on the track??? Daft.

• #103
Why not? Niche market, but might fit someone's requirements.

Yeah, slightly odd choice of wheels but it's quite a handsome frame I think.

Erm... just noticed it's got a half-link chain on it... That's a bit weird.

True, but there are a couple of ways that they could be much better.
Clinchers, nice for outdoor training and league type racing
66mm, not so nice for windy outdoor tracks
If they where 40-45mm, I would have bought them to replace my training wheels and my campag pista league racing (and indoor) wheels, in one wheel set.
66mm introduces a limiting factor of handling in cross winds (and probably unnecessary weight). And if they are for indoor, tubs every time.

Nice canyon. I like that a lot.

That depends a lot on the individual wheel and the user, so you can't really say that 66mm rim depth is a problem in and of itself. What you really need to know is how the moment exerted by the wheel's aerodynamic drag about the steering axis varies with yaw angle. Sharp changes unsettle you more than just a steady large magnitude.

That picture flatters it, it looks weird from the side on view. Headtube configuration is odd

I've re-ordered the list, pulling in foreign ones from another list,
and linking that list back to here. Useless, I know. :( -

I think it's a legal thing. I doubt if you'll get one if you actually buy from Evans "For Racing Only", but the product shot will have taken into account the possibility of sale as a road bicycle. Chain guard is required in BS6102, and possibly in the new bicycle regulations in other jurisdictions.

Look 464 - comes built up with SRAM chainset and Miche wheels. £1, 300.00
I've got one, its nice!

Brilliant - having no brakes on the road is fine...but no chain guard...that's bloody dangerous!

The wheels do look chopped, but different cranks, bars, stem and saddle, and different frame decals, surely make it a different base image.

What's with the Fuji Track Pro?...it's surprisingly heavy!
There's no point making a track bike which is going to be under 6.8 as soon as you put some decent wheels on it.

They're different images, don't listen to Guy... ;P
Nearly bought those wheels. Then I realised that 2kg 66mm deep carbon clinchers seem a little odd. Full marks for bling though.
