I know that i'm surprised that they allowed full suspension, the uci are normally very strict about a people have unfair advantages. i"m assuming the UCI governs the Paris Roubaix am I wrong?
They didn't think to ban it until after people had tried it; the UCI are stupid, so it never occurred to them in the 70 or so years between full suspension proving dominant in motorcycle road racing and the first suspended P-R bikes of the modern era that somebody might try it.
