  • lulz @ that^^

  • It would be a high risk strategy; sometimes I talk bollocks. I've even been known to do so deliberately when I think people are becoming complacent about assuming I know what I'm talking about :-)

I very much see you as the one eyed man in the land of the blind on this forum :-)

People have become lazy/ignorant and just ask you rather than bother to research it/look it up for themselves. I guess I am just out of kilter with today's generation and the short cut approach to knowledge. Still, can't do your ego any harm...

    Im happy with those odds.

  • Vertical dropouts have been around from at least the 30's, on bikes fitted with mudguards, so the wheel can be dropped out without fouling on the guard.

  • A good example would be a Rene Herse;

  • Who makes this chain? Looks awesome in a heavy duty industrial way. Is it even a bicycle chain btw?

  • Think it's a Wipperman BMX chain.

  • It is, cheers. Fecking expensive though :(

  • It also assumes the unfortunate alias of the KHE Collapse chain. Basically a Wipperman but fettled with a little to clear smaller BMX drivers.

  • Wippermann might make KHE's chains, but I'm pretty sure the KHE Collapse isn't a modified Wippermann 1G8, the pin peening is completely different.

Warning, by the way; the Wippermann 1G8 only comes in 96 link BMX length, so it's unlikely to fit your fixie skidder.

Correct, my mistake. The Collapse is also 9.3mm wide as opposed to the 1G8 which is 12.4mm.

And 659g even at that length! Heavy, man.

  • I haz one

  • will it be good for polo players? 34x22 or still too short

  • 32/18 works on a Scissor and I could go 32/19.

It would be too short for 34/22

For 96 links on 34/22, you need a chainstay length of 431mm

Moog's chain only has 90 links, which is why it only cost him £10 brand new.

  • Saddle opinions after use? Saw these on the Bay, wasn't sure of their quality for £30.

You sure do love your bike buddy! Thats what its all about. Good job.

  • just don't try and form a "crew" with your friends who also enjoy riding their bikes or you shall have people like ^^^^ taking the piss.

  • salvaged, seapost, brakes, rear wheel and chainguard

I'm considering taking the fork/headset/stem from the wisp to get round the hell that is french headsets. both 1" and 700c?

measured the shell for a new cotterless bottom bracket. I'd presumed french.

73mm not incl old cups? isnt that an a oversize english thread? very weird, belgian bikes seem to use italian, french, swiss and english at various points argh.

"This is not just a Taiwan bought chain and put the name on...
this chain is exclusively designed and made for KHE."

Some of KHE's basic chains are definitely Wippermann, but the fact that they don't claim the Collapse is made in Germany suggests that they get it made by either KMC or YBN; not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • BMC racemaster frameset, as crimbo, present opened.
Previously made wheelset added (48mm carbon rims laced to Tune hubs).
    Headset installed.
    Easton EA90 stem added.
    Schwalbe Ultremo R1's ordered.
    Latex inners ready.
    Easton EC90 SLX3 bars ordered.
Look Keo 2 max pedals ordered.
    Selle italia SLR Ti ordered.
    Lizard skins DSP Bartape ordered.

Just need to save up and buy a 11spd chorus(maybe record) groupset, and throw it all together. Should be a fun roadie.

Oh dear; wouldn't touch Schwalbe race tyres with a ten foot pole. They make great touring tyres, but they should stick to their knitting.

I'm usually a vittora/veloflex man, and was planning to order the vittora corsa CX, but could only get them locally, at a decent price, in white (no fecking way).

I found some heavily reduced Ultremo's (not the recalled ones), and figured I'd give them a shot.

  • Next Years Project Eddy Merckx in Molteni colours I think currently with Ultegra/600 parts but hoping to switch to Campag or Dura Ace
