i use 172.5 cranks and get pedal strikes sometimes on my fixed roadie.
i guess the pedals are pretty chunky as well.
yeah youre right, its not really something I should worry about, doesnt happen often enough and even when it does its usually just a scratch rather than a real strike.
As I said to me its about the peace of mind, rather than the real danger.
