Maybe that's the answer. Although in saying that I've had some very good transactions both ways with people I'd never have met otherwise. Just lately I've been dicked around by buyers and sellers and it's a pain in the arse, especially as you tend price stuff cheaply for the forum too.

I could just use ebay but I would like the marketplace here to remain vibrant and with the consistent bargains I have known.

You're still clueless about this forum I see then.
Take a deep breath, spend some time not selling stuff and being defensive, and this might just work out for you.
You made a mistake, it's easily done, but you dug this hole and you're making it bigger.

...Buying and selling on here is ***becoming ***a pain in the arse as people are not backing up what they say. It's a fucking honour system people, which means it needs some honour.

IMO it's been a pain in the arse since I got here. Allot of it has to do with the fact that missioning it around London picking up and delivering shit is a hassle.

Plus (although I haven't checked this) I suspect the mode average age is somewhere around 16yo. So you do seem to get allot of dibs this or that, when they're never actually going to be putting cash in your hand.

Agree with Hugo the dibs system is most weird there was a classic on the for sale a couple of weeks ago a guy was selling a pair of Swabble Marathon tyres for a tenner and someone said can I dib till I check my bank balance ffs you must know weather you have a tenner,and I am still waiting to hear from a seller about a pair of cranks I said i would have but still not been in contact,its a bit of a lottery sometimes.

I think the "dibs" system is a pile of wank. Whenever i sell something i make it clear that the its the first person to cross my palm with cold, hard, cash.

just read all the above about no1 and, honestly, wtf?? the guy is new and asked for advice when he didn't understand the rules. as far as i can see he has done absolutely nothing wrong, am i missing something? he didn't know so he asked, things then spiralled out of his control (his comments after the question and advice clearly show him trying to do the best thing) and he lost a sale. this forum is different to others and it can be hard to understand the full rules as a newbie. i have never sold anything so i never had to read the rules about the classifieds but surely he can be forgiven for missunderstanding and even asking for advice!? anyway, rant over, as you were.
