Can next year's Greif Masters be a 5-a-side grass polo tourney?
octahedron court.

i don't understand the popularity of the bm format. it's like back in the school in sports, choosing the best friends for your team. and then no one has experience in playing with the other 9 guys, so a lot of failed passes/actions, sounds boring. sorry for my 2 cents, i should better ride at the velodrome.

I'm with you sven, I don't get it either. People complained that last years Greif Masters was 'invitational' then 'first come first serve'. Therefore it was pretty exclusive. But now, this year, it will be all about who's friends with those doing the 'drafts'.
It's a shame that the GM guys got fucked over by Neue Messe, if only they'd stuck with ZKM, it would be such a great venue for a tourney. I'm not even going to travel just to play on that slippery surface, even if you clean it 100 times in a day, it will still be akin to riding on ice.
Bring on GM 2012, team tourney, with lots of courts.

Cough, London Excel 2012 too, it will be the "event of the decade", maybe.

For once I agree with what Uolmo is saying and fuck the borders - shit should be mixed up if you're not making a team tourney.

+1, List of players, draft for 5 or whatever teams. At least make it more interesting. I've love to play on a team with french, spanish, german, italian, swiss, etc etc players, way more interesting than playing with people you play with every few days.

Yes, that would be nice. like at Polomotion, I played with people I never played before, Rik as coach, went great!!

I think we need to set a deadline for picking a coach asap. Ticket prices are cheap and they are only going to get more expensive. Once we've counted the votes for coach the draft should be closed, then the team can be picked.
How does Monday 20/12/10 sound? Everyone tell people courtside at pickup this weekend that if they dont register an interest by then they won't be able to go. Sound good?
