OK I'm back. (I kept my 3D glasses, they make me look like Ronnie Corbett but taller)
Verdict. I actually quite enjoyed it. CGI was excellent, 3D wasn't done to death, It was all a bit Matrixy at times, new world order etc and the ending was a little lame, but it was a good romp. I would have paid to see it. I won't spoil it, but the way they kept Jeff Bridges young was quite weird but effective.
Also there are quite a lot of hot women in tight clothing, this part MOC particularly enjoyed.
Oh and we got free popcorn and water, and an intro from the CEO of Symantec, who actually seemed like quite a cool guy for an American executive type.
B+

Hot women, tight clothing, 3D. Daft Punk - oh can't wait!

There is a great daft punk section in the film, where the scene is in a club - I think the 'robot' DJ's may actually be them (or at least based on them) the scene turns into a fight scene just as the DJ's change the tune to a banging Daft Punk number that goes perfectly with the fight scene. Awesome.

No so good bits of the film:
Some people felt a bit motion sickness but I loved it. Note the merchandising in the film its really obvious. The cgi effects were a bit too good, and maybe a few more bits of an more like the original. as clefty mentioned there are a few matrix bits and a few Star wars references too. They were the daft punk DJ from the credits.
Did you note the suits and the light brown shoes.
Am going to see the Imax version, as that must amazing.
Ducati rule!

my mate booked tickets to see this in iMax 3D as a surprise, but I've got to go to the theatre with my girlfriends parents that evening. Fail. I bet the play will be shit too - they have terrible taste.

I'm going to Waterloo Imax on Saturday, super excited.
Might rewatch the first film sometime this week in preparation.
yeah do it-- pumping house Daft Punk on the I-tunes blowing huge clouds of smoke out and getting the blood and breath moving good.
