Oh, thank god it was misinformation a few pages back. A speedy recovery wished to the cyclist, massive thanks and hugs to the attending cyclists that day. And Concerned, I hope you are recovering as well.

I found this forum after I was hit by a bus and I found it strangely comforting to know that there were complete strangers out there who were concerned for my well being.

cheers record. heres a thought - a few folks have pm'd me regarding sending some flowers, and i do reckon it would be a nice gesture - obviously i don't reckon we should consider doing such a thing if:

a) the lady (Veronika) isn't out of the woods.
b) Veronika's partner, who has been posting on here, James i think the chap's called, would prefer us not to.

assuming these are not considerations, i suggest we either:

a) get a mod to set up an account that we can all chip in to, this would remain accessible for any, all be they regrettable, future good wishes we may want to send.

b) i can do it and anyone that wants to chip in can stick a few pennies in a hat until such time as we're even.

i will pm James regarding this.

if any mods want to take me up on option A please let me know.

First of all, let me just say thank you for all the support and well wishes. This is truly amazing. It means so much to know that there are so many people out there thinking about Veronika. You guys are all great!
Veronika is doing well considering what she's been through. I'll give you an update in a moment. As I said, the police informed me that lfgss had been in contact, and I suspected there would be a thread about it here anyway. It was a tough read but it really buoyed me up to see so much support. I was a little upset to see one poster (who I assume works in the hospital/emergency services) revealing info about her injuries, when I hadn't allowed that to be released into the public domain as I was still in the process of contacting her family members. Anyway... all my energy is going into that hospital room right now, so that's all I'm saying on that.

Veronika is still heavily sedated in intensive care. The injuries are exclusively to her lower body and very serious. They've had to remove her left leg through the knee and we're fighting for the right. It's looking good right now, so just focusing on everything going well from now on.

Thank you very much also for the offer of flowers. That would be great, but as I said to catfood, as she's in intensive care I can't take anything from the outside in there. It might be nice to wait until she's come round a bit so she can enjoy them. Alternatively I'd be happy to accept on her behalf, and enjoy them for her.

James, if you want or need stuff, just post on here and one of us will bring. Stay strong for Veronika. My experience is if you are short on sleep and there is emotional stress then it is even more important to try and eat well.
