Came in on the canal today, thought it would be 'pretty'.
The towpaths from Edgbaston reservoir/Winson Green are a sheet of ice, not just icy or a bit slippery in places but a total sheet of ice.
Just getting down the ramp involved walking like an old lady with massive hemorrhoids holding onto the wall to keep upright, then the towpath itself, even where it's a gritty surface not just where paved, was about an inch thick with super polished ice all the way in until Gas St.
Just a heads up, I doubt you'd actually fall in the canal as the water is frozen and had footprints on but I've not seen the towpath like that before, guess the melt on Saturday froze solid and has been buffed to a sheen by goblins or something.
