  • Just as a teaser I'm adding some photos of road bikes for sale on Broadway Market in the coming weeks. And a cracking time to be selling I'm sure you'll agree.

These are the last of the current crop and have been held up until now, for one reason or another. A couple of these are really museum pieces - nevertheless they all work.

Apologies for the photo of the Moser btw. More details to follow tomorrow, but PM me if you want anything specific in the meantime.

  • Absolutely these are for sale!

  • dibs - Freddy Maertens, Gios Cyclo-cross. Need more info pls. will pm you:)

  • Sorry guys, the complete specs will follow tomorrow. I'm knackered and still thinking about the prices. Thank you for your interest,

  • I bought a frame from Richard Castle, he put up with me being quite a bit late and the frame was exactly how he described it.

  • Also, i won't really take dibs on these until I've put the full specs up. Only seems fair, sorry guys

  • Why start the thread?

  • Also, here's the spec on the Gios cyclo-cross bike.

Actually, I'm not sure this is a Gios, but rather a very good replica. It is made with 531 and very lightweight as was sold through Plum in Ghent, so it's not going to be a real stinker. Frame size is tt 56cm, down tube 53cm.

Also there are some nice design features ,like the rear brake cable going through the seat-post (see picture). You just wouldn't do this with junk.

Also the bike has excellent wheels, although they take tubs: Mavic rims and Record hubs.

Although everything works this is a strange one to sell. To me, it feels like it should go in the window of a shop or something. I certainly couldn't recommend doing cross on it..

Anyway, it is an amazing bike. Price will be £300.

  • Measurements are 56cm top-tube c-2-c; 55cm downtube c-2-c; spacing at the rear is 125mm.

The frame has a Columbus decal, but doesn't specify which variety of this tubing is used. Whatever, it is very light. Also features a hollowed bracket and scooped stays at the seat mounting. It is a very delicate build.

I should mention that I had this frame repaired professionally as there was a crack at the rear dropout. As such the frame is cheap at £100.

  • I should say that a Shimano 600 BB and 600 headset are included with the above.

  • On the Moser bike (picture above)..

    F. Moser Aluminium frame, 58cm tt c-2-c.

The groupset is all Shimano inc.
    105/Ultegra 8-speed groupset inc. Ergoshiters

Mavic CXP/DPS rims on Ultegra hubs.

Bike has a new chain, cables and bar tape.

And the price will be £325.

  • All nice.

  • All nice.

    This.

  • how bad was the crack and what's the current situation with it on the schils?

do you have any less dark pictures - I know there's squat daylight around these days...

  • Could the Gios be for sale as frame and forks only? What is the seat tube dimension please and will it accept 36mm width tyres? Thanks.

  • Hi Starjump. I'm not going to split the Gios at this point, but the price has dropped to £250. From memory the seat-tube is 27. Again without looking at it, I imagine 36mm tyres would work. Get in touch if you want to come and view in Dalston at any point in the week.

Also the Maertens is now £250. With prices dropping like the temperature..

  • Hi Zatchmo, The Schils is still for sale. I'll get a detailed pic of the repair up (in a decent light) this week

  • @RC, how much does the flandria weigh roughly?

even if you could tell me heavy/med/light

  • re. MacNall's question above. The Flandria is built with Ishiwata 022, and the components are decent quality. So I think medium/lightweight is fair. For 1975.
