I played 3 bench minor now,

one in GVA, with a open spirt, first one on polo earth i think. The idea was first to make a beep sound every 2 min, to push teams to turn lines. If i remember it was pretty equal time for each player. The fact was, we were on a fuckin indoor rink hockey court, with the control of the eletronic board plus a big sound system who could make speeker understandable by anybody.
The 3 teams were making like this: every classical team who played a classicl 3v3 tourney on sat was divised in three: one player A, another B, third C. Then we make three big team of 12 people, the Team with all the A, etc...
The tourney was only playing A-B, A-C, B-C.
    No official GM.

Second one, in NYC, the first official one in polo earth. All was made like in a real hockey league. Captain choose players from everywhere in a big list. I was drafted last, so it was pretty clear that i wasn't considere as a strong player.
Our team was turning line like this: every player have a player who take his place, so when one goes out his substitute know that he need to go on court. The capt and his assistant were making some changements during game in some specific momentum.
Get on the bench during a long time because you make 2 huge mistakes on the begining of the game was pretty hard for moral, but kind of justice if capt want to win.
So it was different than the first one, way more competitive. And yes, that's a lil bit hard to stay on bench and not playing. One of our teamate didn't show up on second day because he was pissed off about that.
This tourney was cool because of some rules, basing on ice hockey. With penality cell, for 30 seconds. Get a defensive line of 2 players who could avoid goals was fun.

Last Bench i made was in Grenoble. Same kinde of way to choose team than in the first one in Geneva. Every team had a GM. I was the one of mine.
It was more intense than in geneva, a lil bit more competitive. But it was also open and friendly. So the balance between make everybody play, and the while of win was a lil bit difficult to handle. A guy of my team who let 3 or 4 goals goes in during 2 minutes was pissed off and leave the team between to game, telling me that it was not cool, because everybody don't play the same time, and not even longer in his opinion. For me it was pretty clear that i want everybody to play the maximum, but clear too that at the end, if the gap between the 2 teams was 1 or 2 points, the stronger line should be on court.

    So to conclude:
    1) if the draft is well done, for the win, a good GM should take every player who could construct something during the tourney. In my opinion, making a tourney like this is a competitive stuff, not a alternative cool sunday bench minor like.
    2) every player should get a good capital of time on court, but should understand that some situations need some players.
3)This kind of tourney make some shitty memories goes back to mind to every people who were not so good at soccer during childhood, waiting on the bench. The way to don't get into this is hard for everybody.
