  • Richard Wilson's 50/14 - a room half-filled with oil, with a gangway to walk into the thick of it

20:50. There is a lot of carbon there though so I can see how you made the 50:14 mistake. :)

  • Better shot of it

  • ^ Two different places though...

  • Well yes, principle and effect's the same though. Saatchi's owned and exhibited it for years. It's genuinely very good.

  • I once saw a woman lean forward to look at the reflection in the oil until her face went into it. quite hilarious actually.

  • best behaviour every one hovis brown is here
i saw the oil tank thingy at city hall in a saatchi exhibition recently
    very interesting idea
    amazing reflections

  • Second best show I saw this year - Charles LeDray's 'Men's Suits'. He makes these unbelievably detailed and beautiful clothes, then exhibits them

    but they're miniature

I only saw the one at the Saatchi Gallery and that was after the gangway got closed off. I thought it was beautiful nonetheless. :)

  • I love Ron Mueck sculptures

ha. thanks, J. but am loving the discussions in this thread, so best behaviour not necessary at all.

you're making me out to be the art-warden.

  • @Crispin Glover - what's that?

  • Interesting to see Hurst's recent painting series receive a lot of critique.

My point being, it is easier to put a shark in a tank of formaldehyde.

  • saw that Richard Wilson's 50/14 thing down by kings Rd, it kind of threw me as i couldnt work out what was oil and walk way when i fisrt saw it. very cool.

  • Best show I saw this year, 'Beware of Embroidery'. Stunning stuff - this is sewn into a mattress, rather than a canvas

  • This is nice too, same show

  • @Crispin Glover - what's that?

    Something like this?

  • highlight of the last few months for me was Christian Marclay's Clock video at the White Cube.

  • @Crispin Glover - what's that?

Felice Varini. This is actually painted on the buildings:

  • The artist Robert Barry released gas into the atmosphere in the late 60s. He used Neon.

    He caused global warming, cunt.

  • perspective ?

  • He caused global warming, cunt.

he did. but it was art.

  • Saw 20:50 in the old Boundary Road gallery, which I think was the version Theory swine posted. Very strange experience not knowing what it was and struggling to process quite how a room like that existed in the space it was in.

I also like it because Saatchi bought it, I like the idea of being able to own the idea of half filling a room with used sump oil.

  • I Like Gregory Crewdson.

    ^^ i like that too.
