  • Why do all second year design students need to do surveys that ask nonsensical questions about cycling? Is it something to do with the weather?

  • My thought for the day is on my topically themed blog:

    Sensational

    Love it... :D

  • well i'm convinced

  • Pointless waffling on about the biting and gusty wind making it difficult to get my gear spinning, blowing me off course and generally slowing me right up, so I won't even bother

  • Thanks for the inspiration today Fox, I wouldn't leave the house without it!

  • all main roads ok, once onthe main road all good no problems at all. and in town its as if it aint snowed at all.

  • anyone that took the bus today on account of the weather needs to hand in their man-card.

    and drink this!

ha! quality... when did you put that together?

  • Yesterday morning - I was quite surprised when the domain kicked in within about two hours so it was up and running by lunchtime! .com was too expensive

  • Nice work!

  • yep. great work.

  • a fresh 4 inches of snow has just landed in the last hour, and it's not stopping! I'm finishing work at 1.30pm and going mountain biking!

  • Bastardo!

  • Thank God for these babies... I know I've treated you badly over the years and you're my second string/fallback winter Red Wings, but I'll be wearing you for the rest of the cold season... Cold feet are now a thing of the past...

  • this morning i did away with annoying cumbersome clothes and just smeared myself a goosefat and donned a swimming hat and WW2 flying goggles. fresh.

  • I would've gone with bacon fat... horses for courses, I guess... ;]

  • I have yet to see the need for anything more than 3/4 length shorts, a t-shirt and gloves but then again 4 miles probably isn't far enough to get cold...

  • I took my gloves off and found my knuckles had split from the cold and are weeping blood.
    Ow.

I get this all winter. It's horrible isn't it?

Well aren't you a hard bastard?

  • 4 miles probably isn't far enough to warm up...

  • my street is now like an ice rink, nearly cacked it twice just walking down the shop.
It's going to be fun when the rush hour morons do their road raging this evening!

Be careful everyone who has to ride home, I suspect most of the side roads will be like this so take extra care, there's no way anything without studded tyres wouldn't spill over on here right now.

  • I just walked to the post office in Peckham, pavements are sheets of ice. The main roads look fine but the side streets are dangerous. Saw a people-carrier DAS for about 5 metres up to a junction. Ice on nearly every corner. I think I might bus it to uni tonight.
Good to be reminded how nice it is to walk listening to music though. I often force myself to cycle in some HTFU self-flaggelation, but forget that walking in the cold can be great.

  • there's isn't really and snow or ice to speak of north of the river yet. it's too dry. just the occasional tiny patch of ice in the gutter and the merest wisp of powdery snow every now and then. the slipperiest thing about the roads is all the grit and salt everywhere!

  • the slipperiest thing about the roads is all the grit and salt everywhere!

Can the south-east borrow some please?
