my money would be on the 'kids got caught and the law didn't do anything much about it' scenario. can't blame the police for that. i would also hazard a guess that the culprits are under 18. could be wrong and does it really matter? be safe out there and make sure you are aware of the roads you are riding (especially when drunk)

bloody hell, this threads gone a bit "schwul"...

Have you been reading the right thread? There is nothing here about German gay empowerment.
I was in the Duke of Wellington the other weekend, good pub. Lots of hipsters though.

You can use my story of how I got followed home one night when I lived in Mortimer Road and had the fuck kicked out of me on my doorstep for my mobile phone and ipod if you like.
Luckily for them or me, I was drunk and completely unable to retaliate. Cowardly motherfuckers, needless to say there was more than one of the Cts, fg co*si fa****daad dsoidjiosjc8dd!!!*XXXXXXXXXsorry to hear that mikeC, when did it happen?

lol, i've been following you guys for a while (the bike polo lot as well) and love the banter going on...but still, cyclists who are angry enough to suggest a vigilante a group is still interesting and "newsworthy"...
shyjourno you may want to bear in mind that a lot of the posts on here are very tongue in cheek...
Someone putting their name down for a vigilante group is not an indication of their serious intent to do so or that they necessarily live in the area!

This is the Met's crime map for the area for personal robbery by the way. Red = high. Gives you an idea of the area worth avoiding, but to put it in perspective bustling Dalston is also red, albeit for different reasons.
how did you get a crime map of DB? I've tried and can only get one for hackney in general...cheers!

i ride englefield road almost everyday at all times of the day/night, i avoid the smaller side streets. easy.
-
• #192
Yes, easy (unless you live there). But you shouldn't have to avoid streets 'cause of some scrotes.
-
• #193
Yeah it's not so easy to avoid the street of the house you live in :O
I had an easy solution, I moved out, never to return -
• #194
i've been riding round there a bit recently on the look out for dodgy types
curtain road ? seems like there are some chavs hanging out around that area
generalisation i guess but you never know -
• #195
Grrr.
Schwul Macht!
This would have to be "schwule Macht" if you're trying to translate 'gay power'. "Schwul macht" means "gay makes". "Schwulmacht" as a compound noun is not possible. "Schwulenmacht" would be the only way of forming a compound noun here, but this would mean 'gay people power'. German is a little more complicated than Google Translate allows for. :)
Ganau.
This may be a pun, although "gaynau" would have been better, but the German word is "genau" ('exactly'). "Genau" is actually sometimes pronounced like 'gaynau' for stressing something with comic effect. :)

It was! Gaynau would not have been subtle enough, IMO.

generalisation i guess but you never knowCity boys and out-of-towners. You can see it in the make up of a Saturday night out around there.
the duke of wellington up the road is way nicer. but also has a bit of a "we're so cooooool" vibe about it. this IS De Beauvior daaaarling
