At the end of the day, most of the people who would be playing pick up when you want to play your league game are your mates, so just ask? I'm sure they won't mind, and if (as demonstrated) people would rather just play pick up they can organise their schedule accordingly.

I agreee. Perhaps the 'knee jerk reaction' was in direct responce to being told that there was a league game on a throw in night rather than asked.
