I was going for a sort of Pogues/Richard Thompson/Decemberists type vibe i.e. played straight but not taking itself entirely seriously. Ah forget you guys, i'm going to just sing it to a load of people tonight anyway. I'll let you know if they weep at the poignancy or laugh in my stupid face.
