It's not your fault about getting the rules wrong, it's up to the ref to remind players and enforce the rules.
But that's the point, it's not in the rules, so they didn't "get it wrong", so I couldn't enforce it.
All they say is:
Teams will consist of three players on the court at one time.
...
All Subs must be non-league playersNo mention of subs between games in a fixture, or even the "2 of the 3 original players" rule.
This is a good rule, we should make it explicit.
Yep, then there is no chance for confusion.

^ alot of that shit can be bashed out court side with the teams involved... fundamentally rules are just a set of guidelines.
if there is objection im sure the rules will be raised

By the same token, there's no rule that allows it either. When the rules were drawn up no-one envisaged that this would be a position that any team would want to take.
If a team had raised it before the league, we would could have had a lovely old vote about it and made a league decision.
As it's been raised now we can discuss and add a ruling for the next league.

i agree that substituting player between matches is unfair, if match means 1 10 minute round to reach 5 goals. what i meant by substitution between matches i meant between different fixtures on different days but thats already been answered as we have to keep 2 people the same. id also like to point out that an potential advantage gained by substitutions would be negated by our bikes which at the moment consist of 2 fixed gears built for road use both with more than 70 gear inches and a battered old mountain bike with barely any brakes but hopefully this will change soon. so clearly we cannot accelerate as fast and end up more tired anyway. im not saying that this should excuse us, clearly the rules have to be fair for everyone. we were just trying to get as many people from our uni playing polo as possible and thought that this would be possible to achieve through substitutions. id just like to point out that there was a great atmosphere when we were playing yesterday, everyone was having a great time but if anyone feels threatened by our new team im sure we wil be able to stick to 3 players in future.

No-one's worried mate, we like to chat and discuss on all matters, a lot. You'll see...
There is plenty of polo to be had by anyone who wants to, outside of the league as well. Come down to throw in's anytime and beginners polo on a Tuesday would right up your street.
I understand Peckham is a little far for you but sometimes we run some Sunday sessions at Newington, so perhaps we can organise one when you're all free. -

Do I need to submit my refs report to someone by email (for the league site), or will they just take it off here?
