need to get a photo of fox going up fox hill. just because.

I've done the bit from Peckham Rye and up Forest Hill that way, but I looked at hitting it from Honor Oak Road and thought "no".
Is it doable? I just thought: Roads, Group, may have to wait for traffic that sort of thing. -
• #354
It's definitely doable, if intimidating, from HOR. The summit is blind though, so the group would want to be tight to avoid any traffic coming up and over.

I'll save it for solo grimpeur efforts.

I'm not using your special sock. Again.

You could gather people at the bottom and have two people go off at a time, head to head!
I definitely can't make it now, but I'd be interested to see the route. Plot it on one of those GPS sites that does gradient.

I think this might be the way forward.

Ah JC it would have been good to have you along. I'll be having it tracking on my Garmin, but I imagine most of my progress will be below its cut-off speed.

tongue firmly in cheek
(garmin would be good, Gpsies won't let me go back on myself very easily when plotting a route)

Thanks for all the research damo. Looking forward to it. Hoping for a nice crisp clear cool day like today.

If you head to NZ (home) try Baldwin st in Dunedin...
-
• #367
Wow - thats steeper than the bankings at Herne Hill!
-
• #368
Good work.
"The street's steepness was unintentional. As with many other parts of Dunedin, and indeed New Zealand, streets were laid out in a grid pattern with no consideration for the terrain, usually by planners in London."
-
• #369
Ha! That's brilliant. Why let the fact you're thousands of miles away and don't know the terrain stop you from planning streets out.
-
• #370
yeah, but some dopey kiwi followed the plans through ;-)

Ideally when passing Reynard Drive. I love the fact there is a Reynard Drive off Fox Hill.
Are you still thinking of cooking for us 6 pittas?
And do I need to bring locks? I'd rather not, tbh.
-
• #372
Is your surname reynard? Classic. If you bring a lock you could leave it locked to something at the caf.
-
• #373
Non monsieur, c'est francais pour le animaeux avec le rouge manteau!
Bonne idée.

God my French is worse than I remembered.

Eliot Bank, that might get a look in as well.
Eliot Bank is fucking ace.
I might be up for this, but would definitely be on gears.
damo, when you say that Canonbie 18% side is not doable, what do you mean? Even my puny legs have taken 48:19 up there.
