  • I don't know but maybe it has something to do with having a probation service right next door to the scott head. I thought you can bring the bikes in the garden there?

It's on Englefield rd, De Beauvoir. It's a hot spot to bike theft. You can't leave your bike unattended there. .

  • Add to the look-out list: a black Kona Cinder Cone with a Rock Shox SID fork and very few other original parts, and a fixed-gear matt black Raleigh 20 with nobbly BMX tires.

Stolen just after midnight last night from our stairwell on the 9th floor, busting the lock to get 'em. The fuckers also took the wheels off my Roadrat and dented it's top tube trying to bust another lock.

  • Any way of securing pedals? I always feel confident with my secured seat/post/wheel etc but not pedals. Suppose I could put some spare Aliums in my toolbag. Depressing times.

You can secure every component on your bike with this system but it's not available just yet and I bet it will be expensive too

  • The lane today.

Nice falcon 54/55cm? SS with brown brooks. Same vendor selling pair of Miche wheels.

  • Mash do you have any pics of your bike?

What colour scheme is the classico? Big frame?

  • Big frame latte colour scheme.

Amazingly, I have no pictures. :-(

Here's a stock one of the road version:

Mine, obviously, is fixed, with a brown charge spoon saddle; left hand brake lever only, operating a black campag mirage front caliper; black cxp33s on black spokes and silver ex hubs; black / white vredestein fortezza tyres; nitto quill stem and miche primato chainset. Metal pedals with toeclips.

    Why didn't I take a fucking picture?

  • OK, can't be too many of these knocking about.

I work in the near vicinity of where the bike was stolen so will keep a look out.

  • Hi my bike was stolen in birmingham on sunday morning details here. If anyone sees it on ebay/gumtree/craigslits please let me know.
    Thanks
*could someone merge with stolen thread please

  • Here are my stolen bikes, already posted a picture of the old racer last week but the picture was too big

and my dolan precursa was stolen 6 months ago....I don't know why but I'm still hoping!

    thanks everyone!

  • I've found a photo, it's not great mind:

  • Just thought of one more distinctive feature. The Charge Plug saddle has a Carradice QR bracket fitted onto it, similar to this:

  • This guy seems to have a taste for fold ups - how many brompton's? Item no. 120647088140 on the bay..

  • This guy has sold 3 bromptons in the last 4/5 days plus a track wheelset (Miche) from a Condor and a pair of Mavic Ksysiums...... 250727643856 - this is for one of the bromptons - must be something fuct here? sorry not a proper link....

  • I saw a guy stealing a black specialized racing bike outside the LCC behind the red container, around 8pm. The guy used a Cordless Circular Saw, I tried to confront him but it was then when 2 of his mates appear... the fact I was on my bike didn't help either...
I call the police and tried to give as many details as I could but I couldn't do anything else... I'm feeling really angry/upset

  • Damn 4dots, that is horrible. At least they didn't take the circular saw to you. You did everything you could.

  • Thanks mashton, I woke up a while ago and I can't stop thinking about it... I feel guilty for not been able to stop them :(

  • Spotted a guy last night here >

at about 3am, as i walked past opposite going into my flat.

He was clattering about using 4ft croppers on a d-locked bike on the railing.

Didn't have any phone battery, so couldn't take a picture, instead held my front light with my phone and pretended to take a picture of him from across the street inside my buildings lobby. Waved and smiled.

When i opened the door he pegged it about 30 yards down the street, into a estate car i hadn't noticed, and disappeared. Couldn't make out a plate number in time. I don't see why he didn't stop when he saw me walking past.

Went straight out, the lock was a little damaged but he hadn't had a real go at it yet. No-name D-lock, fullsize. The bike was a Modern hybrid thing. Bike still there early this morning.

    Bunch of wankers.

  • I'm new on here, so hi all. Just in case anyone has seen them/been offered them for sale, I had a pair of Mavic Crossride UB (the V-brake type) 2010 wheels stolen from the garages in my flats in Whitechapel within the last two weeks. They're the silver variety, which don't seem to be so common - most of the Crossrides I've seen are black. Were mounted with 26in Continental Gatorskin tyres. Any leads very welcome!

  • A sort of obvious warning from CommunitySafe, but whatever, a heads up for you Clapham kids:

Theft of Pedal Cycles - DON’T LEAVE YOUR BIKE UNLOCKED! 18 Nov 15:16
Bicycles are a very easy target for thieves as they can be discarded or sold as quickly as they can be obtained.
More than half of all bicycle thefts take place from an owner’s property. Here are some simple ways to avoid becoming a victim of crime:

    1. Keep your bike in a secure garage or shed and keep the door locked.
    2. Keep your bike out of public view.
    3. If you do need to store your bike outside then secure it to an immovable object.
      PLEASE NOTE
There have also been a number of sheds/garages being broken into on Clapham Common Ward.
Please be aware that if you own a shed you have it securely locked at all times, no matter where it is located! There have been reports of break ins to sheds located in rear gardens … just because it’s not in public view doesn’t mean it can’t be a target.
For more advice please contact the team!

  • Hi guys.

The chap in the flat downstairs from me has had his bike stolen - it's a 1980s Raleigh Competition racing bike in dark grey/light grey two-tone.

It was taken from the hallway of our building on Lordship Park, Hackney N16 over the weekend, possibly during the day time last Friday - builders were doing work on another flat in our house and they probably left the front door open. I don't think the bike was locked, or if it was, with a cable... Feel bad for him cos he's only lived here a couple of weeks. Luckily I ride to work otherwise mine could have been half-inched as well.

Distinguishing marks: black fizik bar tape, pouch behind saddle. Not sure of frame size but I would guess about 54cm, either 501 or 531 tubing, original Shimano parts.

I'll try to speak to him tonight so may edit with more info/pics if possible. Otherwise please drop me a PM if you spot it... naturally I'll be telling him to check out the usual place...

This photo is **NOT **the bike in question but it has the same paint job - I've done a quick photoshop on the saddle and bars to match the missing bike...

    Cheers...
