big thanks to the power of the forum and all the advice. the LCEF will be getting a cheeky donation from the 'resolution' as a thank you for all the PM's offering advice and avenues to take.
I'll put up a little precis of how it panned out and the things that tipped it in my favour so if it happens to anyone else there'll be a bit of a reference.
