Good advertising technique, viral arguments and such.

  • So, anyone for some vodka, charlie and a spot of midget tossing?

    I miss the old days.

    #hippyisfast #hippyisfat #cunt #etc

  • Really good, for a product that's nolonger in production.

    :-)

  • Please move to mechanical sub-forum:

    http://www.lfgss.com/thread55053.html

  • can someone enlighten me as to what happened to scott's posts after post 1971 on the grobags thread?

  • Scott appears to have gone through the thread and deleted all of his posts. All of them, back to the first one.

Does this mean that the thread is now just discussion? In which case it's in the wrong forum and I shall move it to Bikes & Bits.

  • Moved.

  • Fuck sake Scott not again.

it's a bit frustrating reading interesting discussion when half of it is missing.

  • Did he do it all by hand? Again?

    Must've.

There are no tools to do this, and the only tool that exists is for dealing with spam and that bombs out with a limit of processing 50 posts and just refuses to work as soon as you get to 51 posts (which is why it's better to catch spammers early).

Certainly people can delete their own posts.

Well... the Creative Commons license allows for permanent copies to be made, and for them to be used forever... which would allow me to un-delete. But I'm in disagreement with the license, I think the web should be able to forget things, and I think that people have the right to retract what they say... so whilst legally everything says I can just undelete, I don't think that's the right thing to do and so I tend to not undelete things.

Must've taken a fair chunk of time to do.

  • pistaboy, 'tis done.

  • Ok, right, let me get this straight.

Scott used to sell Archie's Grobags.

Grobags Thread opens, bags are sold, discussion is had.

    Scott stops selling Grobags.

    Thread is closed.

Scott is about to launch a new venture that is not Grobags.

Grobags thread reopened to announce this.

    Grobags thread is closed.

Another announcement, another opening and closing.

Seems a bit daft to me. Why not start a new thread about your new product when you are ready to announce your new product?

I might as well open that Hub For Sale thread I closed a while ago to say I will soon be selling some handlebars, and then close it.

  • Do you want a load of comments derailing your thread to announce your new business development, that you are getting free advertising for on here to an interested target market?

    (As I see it:
Scott clearly doesn't want a load of weaponry comments about where to buy (when you can't), links to rubbish videos, in jokes and shit puns.
Forum boss wants free discussion and speech about all products, might be a little peeved at providing advertising space for Grobags/New bags without allowing discussion of said product.
    )

  • All this opening and closing threads, what are threads for, discussions v. selling etc. doesn't concern me and since I'm not one of the people actually involved I'm not going to bother opining or posting something to keep fanning the flames.

    Aw, fuck.

  • Nursery evader.

    Deleted posts.

    I'd use a website.

  • this is from another thread.... Jayloo has all the merits, but I thought it could fit here perfectly....
