This was a very straight forward restoration of what was originally a pretty well made cycle. IIRC, the Gloria was 3rd from the top of the Silk road racer range. Although all the chrome was rusty the frame itself was entirely rust-free. The only part we had to replace was the BB axle which was too pitted to use. It was one of the older Tange type with nuts on the ends rather than bolts and I just happened to have one that came on my 1979 Dawes Atlantis.
The receptionist was thrilled, and that was nice to see. As well as her amazement at how much easier a light machine is to get up hills on.
