  • Got a new Lynskey frame with Edge Composites fork. It looks really nice... This picture doesn't really do it justice. The finish is awesome. Can't wait to get it built up.

  • I wish my bike was made from carbon fibre, the crash damage would have looked way more spectacular. Anyway off to Lee Cooper and in 4 weeks should have it repaired, sprayed and with some mudguard eyelets.

  • now, what exactly happenned?

    NIce!

  • ^^ yeah, but the hit is like sideways, no? =))

  • In a very embarrassing fashion, I hit the back of a stationary bus at 25mph, thank fuck for helmets!

  • This was 'meant' to be a beater but I ended up going OCD on its arse. Now complete with a special 'thank you!' to our own Mr Billy of Jim and the wonderful Brixton Cycles for wheel-building and doing a wonderful job of getting her ready for the road.

Saddle-chop and engraving was by me. Parts all NOS and period sourced from fleabay over a long period of time, including Shimano brakes (Royal Compe II) and levers (600s), shifters, front and rear mech all Suntour Cyclone II. Frame is an '86 Raleigh Sirocco in Reynolds 501 with fancy lugs. Surprisingly light considering the vintage and tubing, riding her back from Brixton the other day I found myself riding around just for the pleasure of it, such a joy to ride. And so weird to have 2 brake levers, a free-wheel and being able to stop pedalling!

I managed to skid over a pothole about two months back, lose control and ride into a parked car. Straight over the bars, broke my arm in two, now i've got some nice stainless steel in my arm for the rest of my life... Sweet.

Not a scratch on the bike haha, some delightful scars and a not very exciting story to tell, looking forward to getting back in the saddle...

  • Helmet was cracked to bits, broke a couple ribs and a toe, sprained wrist, and back pain for 2 weeks. I have been riding as my main form of transport ever since I was a teenager, and have never done anything close to as dumb as crashing into a bus!

  • Carlton has returned from having replacement seat stays + a respray/decals

Very excited about getting it built up!

  • looks very neat and clean

  • Beautiful!

  • Front wheel mounted. More pics in the build thread over at fixedgear.se
