In my experience, any liquid works well to put grips on, but the best is wd40. Always have it laying about near the tools, evaporates/dries quickly once the grips on.
I do not believe this. WD40 lingers and stays greasy for at least a little while, dont forget some people actually (mis)use it as a lube.
Hairspray FTW. Not only does it make grips glide on, it dries like glue. Locking your grips in place.
