    Art in'it.

  • Gutted for your loss... I live in SE London - Lee and keep a look out should I come across anything of such description.

  • Just a quick warning to any bike messengers, people leaving bikes around Mount Pleasant i.e The Apple Tree Pub, Warner Street, Elm Street. Mate told me that he saw a couple of Bike thieves trying to make off with a bike.

Yeah and I know exactly who's doing that.

They live nearby like 20 second away too.

    Your map is wrong though, it's this;

  • Ed edit maybe just in case. Wouldn't want any possible retributtion.

  • Silver specialized fixie with Aerospoke spotted on murrey grove, I see this scaly riding around all the time on it it's got black bull bars. Was wondering if it belongs to anyone on the forum. The kid who is riding it is some scally always in a gang and always by the shops on murrey grove
    Good luck

  • Another sighting on Oxford Street this week matching the description, but they didn't get a close enough look at distinguising features before it flew off. If it's still the same blue/green enamel and chrome then it will have black electrical tape on the frame covering over the half ripped off DAVE HINDE white decals (I tried to take them off as who wants DAVE HINDE on your frame but they wouldn't budge)

The bike also has two sets of brake levers so I could ride safely in different riding positions. No Trispoke on this one so I guess that has been taken off if it was my bike.

I realise that there might be a number of similar coloured lo-pros being ridden around but as I said before it is very distinctive. I REALLY appreciate people keeping an eye out for it and I am sorry if this post is boring some people now - it's just so hard to let go.

  • Is someone missing a Cinelli vigorelli* with bull horns?

    *not 100% sure

  • STOLEN CREAM SURLY 54cm WITH GOLD REAR DEEP V

This is my friend's bike, he left it outside his flat door on the second floor of his estate in London Bridge and we reckon a couple of the teenagers living there made off with it.. most probably his own neighbours, but then this is London.. selfish, dog-eat-dog London. Anyway, the thing is it should be easy to ID if it stays as it is - it's a cream surly but has a gold rear deep V and the front is a shimano road wheel with QR. It has risers with black Odi mushroom grips. Here's a picture of texas riding it as an emergency bike in the Swaintoux early this summer:

not the best photo but you can get the size from it and roughly what it looks like.. personally I'd know it if I saw it. He's a lovely guy and is feeling put out by it obviously, and the fact it is 95% sure it's his own neighbours has made it even more sour. Anyway, it went missing Sunday early morning, he didn't realise until around 11am so god knows how many hours of hustle time they had to shift it - point is it's highly unlikely another Surly like this exists so if it turns up on gumtree or some little twat is riding around on it it would be good to know. please pm me if you should happen to see it anywhere.. thanks for your help.

  • Let it go. I went after a stolen bike for a while, it had me stressed and pissed off for months. Wasnt worth it.

  • Not given up hope so here's some better pics of our stolen bikes, stolen last week from Guys Hospital area - out of our back garden.

Apparently there's been a possible sighting of kids on em in the area - I've been out some evening's for a walk around the area but have had no luck. If anyone does see then either post up here or drop me an email at roowilliams [AT] gmail.com - you will be rewarded for any info that leads to getting these back as they are sorely missed. I'm currently riding around on a dirt jumper with bars so wide and a ratio so low it feels like a Harley, don't get me wrong it's fun to throw yourself off a stair set on it but it's not the best in traffic.

    Cheers

  • My Condor Classico Pista got nicked last night outside the TNRC awards ceremony.

Will try to get pics up as soon as possible. In the mean time:

Large frame, "cappucino" (Khaki) steel frame and forks.
Brown bar tape on drops. Dummy brake lever hood on right, silver condor lever on left.
Front brake only, black Campag Mirage caliper.
    Silver nitto stem.
Charge spoon brown. Silver seat post.
Black spoked cxp-33's with black / white vredestein tyres.
    Black sks race blades.
Save the velodrome spoke card in the rear wheel (unlikely to still be in it).

Please keep your eyes peeled around Hackney, Old Street etc.

  • Bugger. Was it you I chatted to on Monday morning arriving at the BBC White City building? Nice bike that. :(

  • Hi Regal, yes, that was me.

    :-(

It will be mine again, I have optimism.

  • Oh shit, Mat... I'm really sorry to hear that, dude... :[

  • As this is the most active thread RE: Stolen bikes and parts,
can somebody tell me what glue is used to stick ballbearings into allen holes and what is the best thing to remove them?

I've seen it before somewhere but can't find it.
After a friend had her bars and stem nicked the other day, I figured I'd like to try this technique.

    Thanks

  • loctite to stick, nail varnish remover to remove

  • superglue really, but get the gel one, easier to stick.

  • The police have contacted me to say they have recovered the rear Trispoke wheel and with at least three sightings they suspect the bike is still in South London (Southwark, Bermondsey, Elephant) but with a normal spoked 700 rear wheel and a 650c black front Velocity Deep V. Let me know if you see a blue Lo Pro fitting the description.

  • Maybe the wheel will lead to the bike? Fingers crossed.
