If this is a cat (sorry, can't see where she first popped up and photos blocked at work - makes threads difficult to follow at times...) and the magnet is for her flap, we've got a flap that recognises the microchip that's implanted in our kitten Kipling to open / lock the flap - well clever (and nothing gets stuck to him).

So she is a cat? I can't see any pictures, just the little red cross which I now suspect is a picture of a cat :) Most image hosting sites are blocked at work, it's really annoying.

apparently sometimes the smell of a cat makes male mice bolder and want to breed more.

Pinky who, in a way, started this thread died this morning. We'd been together since I found her as a young stray. I guess she was 13 or 14.
I buried her in the garden where she spent half her life asleep or failing to catch birds.

Found one of mine dead this morning. Lost a fight with a fox it looks like.
Only got her from the rescue home 6 months ago, hope she had a nice if short life.
Too ballsy for her good!
