Thanks very much Rodolfo and Dutch Cheese, I quite like the look of the new one.
That is some collection of bottles, yours Dutch Cheese? -
• #678
No way, no room for that.
I'm the kind of person that used bikes and stuff. Not a collector.
I must have "consumed" at least this lot.
Lots of people collect bottles, jerseys, mussettes, ...
I tried to collect envelopes (for all riders ending within first 20 or 30).All Gazelle stuff I have left are a couple of ceramic tiles, a tie clamp and a pair of socks maybe.
Now looking again for a nice frame set. -

This is my first post here. I thought you might enjoy this.
Formly Danish rider Bo Hamburger's frame from the TVM Team. I use it on the track. Great ride.

For sure, the stem is too long for Bo Hamburger. I guess you have changed it to something that fits you.
I wonder that the frame suited him.
But I believe you. Not many other ex-TVM riders rode on the track. -

Anyone know anything about the Triathlon Trophy Model then? I bought the one that was listed a month ago here
It's a frame similar to Trim Trophy, Race Trophy, Cross Trophy and Randonneur Trophy.
All with Reynolds 531 plain gauge main tubes and regular steel forks and stays.
Lower / curved top tube to accomodate bullhorn bars or typical (Scott) tria bars.
Short head tube, top tube a bit shorter than race/trim and cross trophy.
For two 28" wheels.
Only sold as frame set, not as a complete bike. -

I'm 175cm, I'm not sure of his height exactly, can't seem to find it. It has Bo Hamburger stamped on the shell. When I bought it was fitted with crankset, seatpost, stem & handlebar.

Lush and reminds me of mine (previous links on this thread were broken).
How do you know it was Mr Hamburger's or are you just assuming from the name on the top tube?
There is no name on the top tube. But his name is stamped on the bottom bracket shell. I bought from someone who knows him.
Your TT is really nice. How was it kitted up originally? Do you still have it?

I have a Gazelle frame that I am trying to replace the bottom bracket in. The existing cups state 1.37 x 24T however the bottom bracket shell has (Roto) Italy cast in it.
Is it English threaded or Italian? (I am having trouble removing it!)
Update
Ok I have searched Sheldon further and it looks like British cups will not fit into Italian bottom brackets (which is what I was worried about) -
• #689
English thread for sure.
ROTO is/was an italian company making BB shells and other.
Italian BB makers did not only make BB shells with Italian threading, also english threasing.
It was kind of rule of thumb (nearly 100%) that all Italiand frame builders used a BB shell with italian thread, while dutch, german, english, japanese, and most oterh frame builders usd english tread, no matter where the BB shell came from.Besides that, many (sheet steel) BB shells were delivered without threads. Threads were cut at the frame builder plant before or after painting. Example: all Gazelle Trophy series frames and most Formula frames.

why are you worried about that?
italian bbs are only slightly less common than english threaded ones.
And it's probably british thread anyway. -
• #691
Thank you very much.
I am having trouble shifting either cup, and was worried that someone had forced the wrong type in. Also didn't want to be trying to unscrew the wrong way

looks nice, good classic looking frame

Not specifically Gazelle related, but anyone has an idea about riding with a ding like this?
Reynolds 500 for as much as that's of any relevance.
Frame doesn't look to be misalligned.

Can last for ages. Nothing serious, as long as it develop a crack (don't think that that will happen).
That's the Vuelta thing? Don't think that the stays are Reynolds. May be PB steel. -
• #695
Yeah, that's the Vuelta - just found out about that ding.
PB steel is fine, since it's probably going to end up as a pubbike. ;)
Thanks! -

I just bought this http://static.lfgss.com/attachments/33434d1290029919-img_1433.jpg
how difficult will it be to get an original fork? And I think I want to get it re-sprayed, so where would be best to get replacement decals?
Also any advice on repairing dents?
cheers

Decals on eBay
Don't know about forks nor dents..
You want an undrilled fork? -
• #698
Don't respray Tenderloin, it adds to the character of the bike. I hate when people say that but it's true in this case. My Champion Mondial is in a far worse way, yours really doesn't look bad from the picture.

• #699
haha okay, but if i want the dent fixing it will affect the paint, so im not sure. Maybe just clear coat it to protect whats there and make it a little more hard wearing.

I'm certainly no expert but have looked into getting a dent on one of my bikes sorted and the two options I found were 1.replace the tube, 2. Have it filled (with braze I think).
Recent version
Vintage, see older catalogues.
Bottles were supplied with each road bike.
Racers use bottles and trash them after a while.
Collectors keep them.
Very little on Marktplaats, nothing at the moment.
