Walking

Looks great Digger. I've loved cycling in Wales. I could give walking it a go.
Shit I almost live there - it's easy to get to ;)

My mate suggested Hellvellyn but my orienteering isn't so hot these days (last time I used a compass I was about 10) and I'd prefer not to get stuck up a mountain somewhere.

Helvellyn is easy to navigate, you'll have no problem. Simply follow the crowds up the path from Glenridding car park and you'll soon find yourself on striding edge leading to the summit. On a nice day, this is one of the finest walks which is only marred by the volume of people.

Obviously it isn't always going to be packed with people, but on a busy day you more than likely won't need a map to find your way up there.*
