Nothing much. Even if they did something to prevent it, that just screams "break my protection" to any ROM hacker out there.

today i got a htc desire hd, wasnt expecting them to be in stores yet but carphone warehouse had them in stock unlocked got it with an orange contract. so far im pretty impressed

Yeah, but my contract phones are always for 12 months only. I pay more for the handset, though sometimes its free,
like the Desire was for me. New phone each year FTW.

How much would anyone offer me for a used Motorola Milestone with Android 2.1?

I'd wait for the Froyo roll-out. Motorola have just said that its in the pipeline but is still being alpha and beta tested.

I always chuckle whenever someone asks about buying or selling something computer-related and the response is "wait! is about to come out!"

only managed to get it by chance, went into the carphone warehouse and they had 3 in stock.

Does anyone know when Android 2.2 will be released for the HTC Desire on Orange? It gave me the option to install about a week ago, but I didn't and now it's dissapeared.

Go to Menu > Settings > About phone > System Software Updates and click Check Now at the bottom.

If it's available, this should prompt the download. You can also try turning your phone off and on and switching between 2g/3g. We did this on my mate's O2 phone when he didn't do the update the first time it appeared.

Tried the manual software update before and wasn't showing up, now it is. Stupid new phones. Downloading now.
