Don't worry about it man, it's not like the bike is special in anyway. It's sole purpose in life is Polo and expects many more accidents

  • And apparently gets better with crashes ;)

    I wondered who gopher was!

  • it was great yesterday! thanks a lot for a great introduction. looking forward for a next time.

  • Yeah, cheers for last night guys (and gals). Good fun all round.
Nice to be able to play somewhere dry when the weather is as bad as it was early on.

its times like this i wish i had mud guards, atleast peckhams got a roof!

Its times like this I cut a 1L bottle in half and fix it with parceltape.

Massive fun yesterday! keep it up!

  • +1.
Kev's like a passionate manager from the sidelines, shouting advice and telling us what's going on. Love it. Keep it up. And please come and support the Rusties ;)

No worries, you're welcome. I seriously do want the beginners teams to do well and get stuck into the game, everyone is a beginner at some point and needs encouragement.

Who knows, maybe they'll make some cheesy film in the future about a bike polo team of some beginners, taken on by a manager who's all washed up but wants to recreate the glory days... who just manages to get the team into the worlds... and who knows what might happen next? etc etc.

  • Oh yeah - I seriously / obviously dont want to step on your toes Joni, but I work late every Tuesday and I've just gotten a new job. Two new part-time jobs to be precise. So I am going to be working lots very soon, for the next eight months or so. I wont ever make the beginners session at the car park. But its the only one I can really play in at the moment with the injury, the pace of it is all I can handle, I am too paranoid about being injured again at the Newington and Downham games. Until it is sorted out in February or thereabouts.

    So...

Would it be ok to call a beginners day session for Newington this Sunday?

I'd like to play a bit, seeing the tourney last weekend and not being able to participate was depressing.
I dont want to take away from the Tuesday session, but it seems like there is enough numbers and appetites for a bit more not to fuck with it. Sunday morning would be a good time to play on the court, we'd get a good lot of time in, the court wouldnt be occupied.

It's just a one off. It'll be the first and last outing for me for me for a while when my new jobs kick in.

  • sounds good to me, as long as it's after 5 so i can come :D

You work on Sundays? Thats tough. I'll be working every Saturday from now on, it makes me cry. But if you come after 5, you might only get one game in... it'll be getting dark by then and there's no lights there (yet!).
