Ste's post above seems to sort out any problems?
i think you'll find the shuffles suggestion was mine ;)
re the payment, discretionary free play kinda goes against what i discussed with neil when we were still negotiating the use of PH. when we enter the realms of asking people for money, it's kinda the same as bike safety in a way. for example, if we insist people only play if their bar ends are capped, but let someone off 'just for one game' coz they're new and haven't got any end caps, people aren't gonna take the rule seriously enough. similarly, if people turn up and are new, or just skint, letting them off will be undermining the reason we are charging in the first place. i see your point about the first couple of sessions, but imo there is no other reason people should not pay. in any other club type scenario, there might be a special offer for 1 or 2 free sessions, but after that it's strictly no pay no play. it sounds harsh but if we're gonna make the MHBPA work financially, we need to be a little stricter. also, imo if people are gonna want to take up a game like polo, £2.50 for a 3 hour floodlit session isn't really gonna put them off (i used to pay £3 for a one hour lesson of lindyhop ffs!?).
