I need to get the commuter bike ready for winter, projected expenditure will be around ₤100 (tyres, brake pads, tubes, cables, chain and a new bb and a couple of other things). Alternatively I could sell it and put some of the money towards a "decent" new bike (Fuji Track or something similar).

As a double check with the lfgss massive there is nothing campag specific about these down tube cable stops is there? They look just like any other pair I have seen but strangely cheap for campag, which make me suspicious.

I've missed that scabby-shinned bastard.
Fella has diabetes.

i have a pair of these:
without the hoods or the little clamps.
should i whack them on ebay, or hold onto them (will they increase in value - they seemed to have since i last looked)?
-
• #3239
You can buy both the missing parts so you can either do that yourself, or whack them on ebay and let the market decide what they're worth. Are they 8 or 9 speed?
The ones you've linked to are valuable because, as far as I recall, they only did 9 speed in the old shape for a year at most.
-
• #3240
9 speed. same as the link.
worth buying the spares before i sell?
there is a little green mg that needs the money more than i need the shifters...
-
• #3241
I'd sell them and let some other fucker worry about the details. That said, if I find some new hoods you can have my old ones to stick on them before you sell them.

What was the news on the head Richie?
-
• #3243
the head is good!!!
need new studs, though, as the threads on one of them are iffy, and one of the rocker arm studs was banana shaped.
next saturday will be the big day, i just need to borrow a 1/2" drive af socket set, because i left mine at sarah's folks (hint)
-
• #3244
I'll have a look at my sockets when I can be bothered to get off the sofa.
Great news on the head though- big weight off your mind (and pocket) I am sure.
I got Corky Bell's "Maximum Boost" yesterday morning, slowly reading through it.

What sort of twisted rocker body piercing plot is this?
-
• #3246
arms studs, oliver - all the kids are doing it.
-
• #3247
Can lend you a 3/8 set and a fucking exceptionally overpriced torque wrench.
EDIT - Congrats on the head.

• #3248

It was the Giro not the Tour de France.
Where can I get sandals like that?
-
• #3250
Where in the UK can you climb 1km vertical in 5 or so horizontal?
This is why you need to take that HTML course. Always close your tags, and don't let tags overlap.
