The big Lake boots are most definitely waterproof. I was unconvinced by the low-boots with high collar... it seemed to me that water could be trapped in parts of the shoe and the design would then mean that this is pressed through the material. You can't put water against a material, add pressure and expect water not to get through. The full boot is designed to avoid this, it prevents water traps and I prefer it anyway because the leather on the front would shed any crap thrown up by the front wheel.
