Its getting close...
just waiting on a load of parts so we can do a dry build before paint to make sure all the belt drive stuff fits and works, then its final clean up, paint and time to ride it.
I fucking love this bike, Tom has done a sterling job of building this thing and putting up with me constantly wanting little extra details on it, he has also put some nice little touches of his own on it.
all in all...WINNER!

Looking good! What colour are you going for?
-
• #258
Fuckin sweet to see it progressing...
Looking forward to seeing/ having a go on the final product now!

Col, I think we care going to do it gold, with all black components, small off white panel on the down tube with Toms logo in it.
Pissed, yeah man, its going to be rad, I'll bring it out as soon as its done, I'll charge a pint per go on her!
I mean the bike, not the missus!
haha

A pint for a go on both? Go on, got no stamina either way but can keep going multiple times!
-
• #261
Oh god, that thing's amazing. Love the laser-cut bridge. When's it my turn?
I want a laser-cut logo too, maybe as a little gusset near the headtube.
Can't wait.

Sparky, Spoke to Donny today, he was throwing a few ideas for yours around, obviously he needs to agree them all with you, but yours is defo going to be super awesome, hopefully not too good though, I don't want it to be nicer than mine!

Got a bargain. ~1989 Raleigh Special Projects Division 531c road frame. Looks exactly like this:
Well used but paint is in really good nick.
Going to build it up geared. Thinking Shimano 600 Tricolor, dark grey Mavic rims and white bar tape to match the white Turbo.

Hey Guys, Relatively new to posting although I'm a die hard lurker on here lol.
Recently Picked this Old Raleigh Record up, going to turn it into a fixie beater.
(apologies for the poor quality pic, took it on my blackberry)

My latest addition to the family. Sorry quality is appalling I'll get something better. New to fixed but been riding geared round the Dereham areas for quite a while now. Didn't realise there were any others round here, rarely see anyone out on a bike round here other than kids
-
• #269
Nice one. Its good to see another local (-ish) person using the forum...
Spenceey used to live in Dereham. You should come to Norwich @ some point, or we could maybe come pay you a visit...
-
• #270
Will do, I'm actually in the sticks now sort of between Dereham and Fakenham so even more remote! Often in the city although usually on road rather than fixed bike
-
• #271
Hahaha, yeah Fakenham is a shit to get to... We biked to Hunstanton, then done coastal road round to Sheringham fixed. Seemed like we would never make it to Fakeham...

In the process of stripping her down. Not sure whether to leave her as is condition wise (paintjob, rust spots) or go the whole hog.
-
• #273
In for a penny in for a pound, may as well go the whole hog and do the frame how you want it.
That said, a 'weathered' frame looks quite good in a way
Not much help really!
-
• #274
I can't decide either!
-
• #275
Why not strip it, clean it up then re-create the paint job (maybe change the colours if ya feeling adventurous)? Build up and come with us....
Remember when painting a bike, take your timem..
Maybe though! Will keep ya posted!
