I get nervous as a bastard before a race, but that's part of the fun in my opinion.

do you need club affiliation or can i just turn up on the day?
Le has a full card 120 riders which is the max allowed by the CTTC, approx 30 riders were turned down already, this is in part for taking on non affiliated riders with a temporary membership an expensive way of entering a hill climb but their choice.
I'll be marshalling and taking photo's again, see ya there -

I get angry. Or should I say angrier. It's not a good look.
It's another reason why I only TT now - no one else around. -

I saw Dan Lloyd in the pub tonight. He rode very well in 2008. I think he won one--can't remember whether Catford or Bec. He looked skinny.

^Catford

I raced that year.. Arctic prem bloke won in 1.54.. Think Lloyd was 2nd..

• #261
Oh yeah, Crawforth won the Catford, Lloyd got revenge in the Bec.

I'm getting the train out to Sevenoaks and then riding slowly for 20 odd miles to get the train back from East Grinstead.
You're welcome to join.
There is no way I'd get the tandem on a train. It's a monster.

how long will the action be going on for?
was planning to get there for 11ish..?
-
• #264
Until the Bec finishes at about 3.45pm. Traditionally.

Can I repeat this question? Or will this not work because the definite meet up is 8.15 at Crystal Palace? 8.15 at CP is very very early when you live in North London...
I really need to do some miles tomorrow.

Ouch. Break out the hot water bottle, and get well soon.
-
• #273
I'd be trundling down if it wasn't for the fact this is my only day off and I need to do mundane things like catch up on sleep, food and washing.
Good luck Matt, GWS Steve and have a nice time Hippy, I like Marlow. -

Bad luck Steve and good luck Matt and everyone else! Nice day for it. Bet it's still cold there though.

Perfect day for it. Light, bright, sunny, warm; slightly breezy. I really thought the record was going to be taken today, but it wasn't. Really don't know if that record will ever be beaten - maybe only if the trees get cleared.
Dean Downing struggled with a big gear on his fixie.
Pleased with my performance, a good improvement on last year (but it was a quick day). Lots of support which was nice.
To ride, you need affiliation, and to have submitted an entry form a few weeks in advance.
