  • rat bike (frame courtesy Scorch)

    yeeey!

    can't see no picture

ooooo! :( fix it EEI will ya?

  • Cool, I'd fancy a bike like that if I lived near the beach or a forest or something. Not for tricks though, not my cup of tea.

  • I'm honestly not into the whole trickster thing, but this bike has to be shit loads of fun
off-road/paths/country side/etc.... the 1.9 tires just crawls everything.
I'm in love with riding in a whole new level :)
And yes... I just came from the park. Wheelie-o-rama.

  • Looks great. I can't wait to ride it... Nuno... meet up soon and yes, I do. (off topic)

  • Yeah dude, come to mine one of these days.
Let's barspinz and do the bunnyhop!

    yeah.

  • yeeey!

ooooo! :( fix it EEI will ya?

    Now?

(Pub version for now - I'll stick the drops on once I have more time to visit the velodrome. If they don't close it down before).

  • Noice, looks fun. Your rat bikes are better than most things I've ever built.

  • Now?

oi! my former "brand" has now reached international fame! =))
real nice, EEI, awaiting dropbar... =))

  • I'm building a ss, currently a fixie until I scrape together the pitiful funds for a freewheel.

Rear Wheel: Raleigh Mach Omega 1, £40
Front wheel is some gypo shit I picked up on freecycle, along with some drop handlebars, I don't know enough to recognise the branding. £0
Unbranded cream, green and black leather racing saddle. £0
Front Brake Lever £2.50. I have a pair of brake levers for when (if) I make it a SS.
Frame: Raleigh Sirocco, Red £25 with postage.
Sugino GT Cranks, came with the frame.
    ebay'd pedals, clip compatible £5
Gypo rusted 2nd hand chain from my friend. £0
Campo single pull brake calipers. £0
Shwalbe Blizzard Sport tyres, red. £12.50 for two w/ postage.
    Speckled white handlebar tape, £2.50

I want some white SKS racer mudguards and I need a new chain, trying for white. Front wheel needs truing and polishing, I might even buy the 2nd of the set if I can find £35.

My first build, I've had so much fun doing it I'm now building two of my housemates bikes. I did it as cheap as possible where I could, I invested in a decent back wheel because the mood struck me. I don't think I'll regret it! Both converted MTBs.

    Pics coming.

  • My Chas Roberts Colombus SLX frame complete with full NOS Campagnolo Chorus Groupset.

  • Totally love it.

  • That indeed is one great bike! Those Roberts paintjobs are THE sex..

  • That is obscenely nice.

  • yup, beautiful. looks my size too, dibs! ;)

  • driveside picture

  • all i need now is a new york fagetabodit and one of those bad ass chains to stop it getting nicked

  • I'd give my left-nut for a Roberts

  • get that roberts in the porn thread, looks stunning.
    nice fireplace too

  • Thanks to Varno for the wheels, and advice from the old Peugout thread on where to get a seatpost that fits the stupid french frame. Also got a Giant EXT adjustable stem, it splits in two so acts a bit like a face off. Also, it had yellow on it.

Went along to a local cycle club meeting at a 400m track ( I think it was an athletics track) for a floodlit training session they do on mondays. Some confused looking glances to begin with then some sprinting and pack riding where they all ride at 17mph and you have to sprint ahead, catch up and join the back of the pack again.
Going to go again next week, kept up fine, didn't die, nice blokes.

I think it highlighted a need to put some drops on, I have some ITM Anatomica 44 bars but no brake levers other than some gold eighties dia-compe jobbies with a double action lever so you can use them from the top of the bars.

  • Thanks for all the lovely comments, im missing some campagnolo dust caps for the cranks so if anyone has any spare lying around, please let me know, ive got my eyes on some on ebay but they will probably go for a ludicrous amount of money.

  • SA newly released 2 speed kickback coaster hubs, no need for any wiring.

1500g for the hubs alone, but with two speeds and a coaster brake, it's pretty good.

    S2C?

I've be waiting for these to come out, especially the black ones.

    Where and how much?

  • Lovely Roberts. I bet it's even nicer in flesh.

That colour scheme on The Pug works for me. Very gay & merry.

  • Got those on ebay, was told by SA that they're releasing it in late September 2010, so it should appear in any good shop soon.

  • Are they those magic SA hubs that change gear when you think about cycling faster or slower? Genius.

    How do they work again?

  • ratchet system of sorts. There is a video of a brompton with one on youtube.

Small backward cycle changes the gear, large backward cycle engages the brake.
