I'm also a little worried about the £900 per person sponsorship. I've never been too good at making people dig deep!

Fixed is all I've got!

London Fixed, Geared and Single Speed?
Boom!
Might consider fixed but will have to make a bit more comfortable ride than anything I own atm! -

its 18 over only! and £1800 is a bit dear...
i think they should make a category for under 18s who only need to get 1% of that :) .. -

Anyone up for it? I'm really really keen and should be able to get discount Eurostar tickets for the way back.
I need advice and friends who are up for a massive push and a massive adventure, im open to suggestions of dates in the next 4 weeks or so.
Come on!

Providing you're not a weirdo and you're not planning on killing anyone in their sleep then yes, I'd be interested.
Questions:
Fixed or geared?
Bivi bag on the side of the road or hostel/hotel?
Are you planning on staying in Paris for a night or two?
How much will Eurostar cost on the way back?
Could you be tempted to ride back? Say going via Newhaven/Dieppe on the way and via Calais/Dover on the way back? -

That's a really useful map, thanks hippu.
wools... im going geared, im thinking of doing it in one push so sleeping on the ferry and getting there in as close to 24 hours as possible. Don't have much spare time! Spend the night and day in paris and then come back Sunday evening
I think newhaven/dieppe seems the way forward

If it's good enough for Donald then it's good enough for the rest of us! When were you thinking then? You doing this over a weekend or during the week? I've got a lot of holiday to use up before the 31st Dec so am up for doing it during the week.

Does anyone know the actual riding distance i.e excluding the ferry?
Wanted to see if it were feasible to do it solo in a day.
My friend is organising this:

If anyone is interested.
I may have to take take part, sigh.
