Langster / Langster Pro / Langster Steel

So from reading this thread, and the patience of the experienced riders is appreciated by us newbies - is a langster steel worth a punt as an entry level SS?

Ive 500 quid insurance from my bike that got nicked - was a cannondale bad boy but the gears arent needed for my commute.

The things that put me off are the drop handle bars and...i like disc brakes.

Im taking langster for a test drive on friday.
