It was sold for £1200, but a starting bids of 1200 is just taking the mickey.
For a moment there I thought it was a BIN.
coventry_eagle, is that your ebay?
-
• #28228
if you read the thread, coventry_eagle pretty much only bought it off scot to help him out. He never even took the bike home. I doubt very much he would then try and sell it on ebay for profit.

Ed: Yeap it is still mine, Scott is well aware of it being on the Bay and the 1,200 starting price is as per Scott's advice :)
sumo: Yeap, bike it still with Scott & thanks for backing me up.

^^^ yeah, Ed, come one, pay attention! it wasn't even actually sold in the first place (you know, as in 0 bids...), not to mention no profit here
:))

Just thought I'd put in my two penuth, I remember Scot being quite desperate to sell the Bianchi, if more people were like Coventry Eagle and willing to take a risk on a bike @ £1200 to help out a forum member we would have less bitching than we do now. Also it seems CE has no need or desire for the bike himself which means he would probably want to get shot. Also why is such a crime to turn a little profit these days, we all buy from the likes of Hilary, do think they are selling for the love of the forum at no profit?

• #28232
@Coventry Eagle, have you had chance to ride it?
-
• #28234
but that was 3 weeks ago! i'd be clucking if i owned that...needs riding that bike, hope this has a happy ending.
As for all the buying/selling/profiteering bollocks, it's clear the man has done an outstanding thing here to help someone out and actually put his £'s where his mouth is. fair play, deserves to get his money back and more. -

Nope.
@Coventry Eagle, have you had chance to ride it?
To clarify this:
I bought the bike bcos it was such a beauty and it was meant to be hung on my wall as a piece of art (which Scott was aware of) and ridden once in a while.
I have been very fair and transparent with the whole deal surrounding the bike and Scott has always been kept informed about it. All the details (other than the Bay listing, which is against forum rules) are in the original sale thread as pointed out by sumo.
I kept all my promises to Scott, messaged all DIBS for the whole bike and potential split and they too are kept informed. You can confirm it with 11biztool, rounce, Hobo and EEI. And in the event of a split, will get their DIBS promise kept.
The 1,200 starting bid is to ward of the hassle of BIN which has an option of the buyer returning the goods within 7 days and refund including P&P included according to the Distance Seller Act or something.
1,200 whole bike still stands.

Thinking about buying this Pompino (apologies, I have no idea how to paste a pic from eBay any longer).
Anyway, the current owner sawed the braze-ons off with a hacksaw, and had this to say about the resultant damage to the top tube:
"it's a chip/cut. not a dent. when i cut the braze-on off, the cut went into the tube a bit. as i said, i think it's just cosmetic as i've been riding it for over a year that way, and i weigh 15 stone."
Now this would be for a winter hack, however I'd like it not to fail on me- what do people think?

I built one of those up for a friend when they had their closing down sale a few years back - it was a beautiful ride, and still going strong.

A full carbon road bike for £600 (or under..), that's quite a steal.

Or just buy some new one (Electra Ticino Lux) instead for a lots less;
Ed
Please tell me, that you **do **see a difference in those and sheriff stars... I'm not saying you, or in fact anyone, should pay a fucking thousand of dollars for them, but aesthetics-wise, come on, those modern one look "wank"!!! (c) Pistanator
who owns it now then ? shame it was bought cheap and sold on just for profit... i assume it's scotts no ?
