thats not bad if they get awareness for stolen bikes. i got punched off my bike a few months ago and police just showed me mugshots. that was it. but if everyone sees what shit goes on with bike muggings then the police might pay attention.

It's so cool to hear about digs86 Viking! I've been looking out for the ones I've seen posted on here (whilst still looking for my on-one pompino) and was very heartened on Sunday to see Brick Lane was crawling with undercover police who were actually doing something!!
Not that they a thing about mine-closed the case pretty much before it was even opened. -

Hi Guys and Gulls,
My back garden has been attacked by most likely organized group of thieves on the night between the 26sep and 27sep between 11pm and 7am.
They broke into a neighbours garden (end terrace) jumped over into my one (next house to end terrace) and took 4 bikes all locked one to another with 1 krypto new york 18mm lock, 1 krypto new york 16mm lock and with a magnum 14mm chain to a shed.
Bikes were not at all visible from the street as the neighbours fence is around 7ft tall brick wall.
I suspect this was tipped of by someone in the neighbourhood or so. Noone heard anything including myself
4 Very nice bikes have been taken:
1) Specialized singleecross 58cm. rear wheel is a dp 18 bblack rim on ON-ONE hub while the front wheel was a white deep v type rim on quando hub with red tyre on.
2) Condor 49cm orange fixie with lime green deep profile rims on silver formulas with blue tyres. sugino chainset, selle LDY saddle, yellow tape. real eye catcher. since picctured the tyres were changed to blue ones.
3) Small 50cm gitane fixie. powder coated in pink with orange bullhorns. white deep v type wheels with red tyres
4) Giant OCR2 roady . 61cm. red tyres sora triple chainset ( new type sora), 105 9 speed cassette and mech, Tiagra STIs ultegra front mech. orange bar tape. don't have a pic of this one but the pic shown bellow is exactly the same giant as this one was exceept the orange bar tape and red tyres.
I expect some of these bike to be offered for sale in London or eventually Oxford in the next couple of weeks. Some of you may also spot them being ridden around.
If you spot them PM me please :-)
Any kind of information will be gratefully appreciated

horrible feeling specially after i went to the police station and filed the report. the crooks left the padlock on the shed full of fingerprints and the coppers didn't bother to get those prints or take a look at the scene. the only way out of my street is on the main road which is well coverred with cctv, not surprisingly the coppers didn't bothered with that either as according to them the time scale between 11pm and 7am is far to long to look at the footage. during the night from my street onto the main road usually pass just a couple of vehicles all together so it wouldn't be that hard to spot a van or truck getting onto the main road. I truly struggle to accept how notoriously soft our system is towards this type of crime. really gutted...

fuck, hard blow losing all that. Sucks that the coppers wont even bother trying to help you

Does anyone know about our rights regarding requesting police to view the cctv footage or asking council to do so?

Yes. You have none. Have a judicial review if you like, and kiss goodbye to a shed load of cash for no result.
Welcome to today's Britain.

Terrible. Hopefully, this will be changing now in London as far as bike theft is concerned, but that's no consolation for you. :(

Bike stolen from garden shed: Wandsworth Town 28.09.2010
Hi all.
Bike stolen from shed last night. Similar to post above. Shed is completely hidden from view. Garden backs on to park with high fence. Only access to garden (other than through house) is over this fence. Thankfully, only one of my bikes, the road bike, was in there. I don't have pics but v. unusual frame: K2, tiny (about 48cm), blue frame with pattern stencilled on it, mavic ksyrium wheels, shimano/miche everything else.
Shout if you spot it - thanks
Jenny
(probably not doing ROFL this weekend...)

Don't have a pic, unfortunately. Anyone who's seen my road bike would recognise it - it's quite unusual. Will see if anyone has a pic I can post.

Yeah, that's EXACTLY the spot. I wonder what it will take for the police to actually take some kind of action... ? So there's been regular attacks happening in the SAME PLACE for a year now - doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to work something out.
A similar thing happened to me in that exact spot about 4 months ago - I got away without a beating though, just had bike, phone, wallet and watch stolen. I actually spotted the guys a few weeks later hanging out around De Beauvoir Square during the day but the disappeared into the estates.
I told this to the police but they haven't acted on this.
I started a thread here after my incident: http://www.lfgss.com/thread43612.html
Surely if the police have just a minimum brain activity they can see the pattern here. It keeps happening the same place, at the same time and in the same way. How many young guys can there possibly be around there? They shouldn't be that hard to find!
Please add advice to this thread:
